Making Connections, Making Memories

In partnership with the Making Connections Storytelling York Region Project, CHATS, the York Region District School Board, and community volunteers, (youth and active seniors), EGPL will present inter-generational programs for senior groups and school classes designed to stimulate the 5 senses through memory sharing and oral storytelling. Volunteers will create the program together using guidelines and materials provided. There will also be a media component as we will be recording the events. If you are interested in volunteering, as a youth over 13 years or as an active senior, please contact Sharon at 905-473-2472, or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or leave your contact information at the library.

If you yourself have a story to tell about your life or memories of East Gwillimbury that you would like to have recorded, we would also love to hear from you as part of our Canada 150 project in oral history. Recording opportunities will be offered throughout the year to tell your story at specified library events. Dates TBA, watch for more publicity, or contact Sharon to schedule a session at the library or in your home.
